Colonial powers established Israel "to control the Arab nation" - Tunisian academic

Tunisian strategic researcher Boulbaba Salem: "The 1907 Campbell[-Bannerman] Conference – [Henry] Campbell[-Bannerman] was then the prime minister of Britain – included the main colonial powers, when they more or less decided that the Arab nation must not stand on its feet. 'This [Arab] nation has open borders and its people speak one language. They [the Arabs] have strong connections and closeness among them and one religion more or less, and they control the center of the world. Therefore, we cannot leave them alone. We must control them, sow discord among them, and plant a [foreign] entity [within them.]' That was the role of Israel. They planted it there."

Official PA TV host: "An entity for purposes of espionage."

Boulbaba Salem: "An entity that represents the West's interests in the region."
