Austrian representative at the UN: "The European Union (EU) has invested greatly in strengthening the PA and preparing it for fulfilling a leading and pioneering role in the future governance of the Gaza Strip. The EU has been and remains the largest international funder of the PA, with Austria still committed to supporting this process, and it has contributed a total of over 83 million euros (i.e., over $96 million) in humanitarian aid to assist those harmed by the conflict that has been ongoing since October 2023 (i.e., Hamas' Oct. 7 war on Israel)."
