Former Lebanese minister defends 1960s’ terrorism as means to tackle “the Zionist danger striving to conquer many Arab countries”
Former Lebanese Minister of Education and Head of the Arab Culture Association Hassan Mneimneh: "I'm talking about a period that occurred between the years 1965 to 1966 and 1967... This Zionist danger will not be limited only to Palestine but rather will strive to conquer many Arab countries... Everyone [acted] out of this feeling, about the importance of returning this land and [the desire] to be freed from this entity [Israel] that was forced on the Palestinians and on the Arabs in general... If no benefit will arise from the peaceful ways, which have been tried for a long period, from 1948… until 1965, then there are also other ways to return the land. This is one of the rights of all peoples, to act in all ways to return to themselves their land and to restore their freedom, and therefore they turned to armed activity (i.e., terrorism), consideringthat this is one of the means to restore this right."
