Mahmoud Abbas hails terrorists as “blessed brave heroes”

The Palestinian Authority loves terrorists. And the more Israelis they murdered, the more the PA admires them.

Israel recently released 250 Palestinian terrorist murderers so that Hamas would free the 20 Israeli hostages it held who were still alive. The most horrific among the Palestinian murderers were expelled to Egypt.

How did the Palestinian Authority respond to these horrific murderers sent there? PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas personally sent two senior PLO leaders, Raed Abu Al-Humus and Rawhi Fattouh, to Egypt to welcome, embrace, and honor them.

Raed Abu Al-Humus: "Blessed are you! O brave heroes, I convey to you the blessings of His Honor [PA] President [Mahmoud Abbas] and the blessings of the Fatah leadership. We are a symbol of the national unity… We hoped that among us would be the icon of the Palestinian people, leader Marwan Barghouti [5 life-sentences], and Hassan Salameh [46 life sentences], and Ahmad Sa'adat [headed the PFLP]. We promise you on behalf of the [PLO] Commission of Prisoners and the [PA-funded] Prisoners' Club that we will remain loyal to our covenant with the Martyrs, the wounded, and the prisoners, and we will fight for you. Blessed are you for your freedom, heroes!"

Posted text by Rawhi Fattouh: "At the reception for the released prisoners and their families in Cairo yesterday, I conveyed to them the blessings of [PA] President [Mahmoud] Abbas, the Palestinian leadership, and the Fatah Central Committee…"

Al-Humus is the director of the PLO Commission of Prisoners' Affairs and a member of the board of trustees of the Palestinian National Economic Empowerment Institution (PNEEI), which now oversees the payment of salaries to imprisoned terrorists and families of dead terrorist "Martyrs." Fattouh is the chairman of the Palestinian National Council, the Fatah commissioner of international relations, and a Fatah Central Committee member.

The terrorists that Al-Humus and Fattouh were sent to greet are so evil that Israel did not send them to Judea or Samaria or even to Gaza. Rather, it had them deported from prison straight to Egypt. These are terrorists like Muhammad Daoud, who burnt a family alive, and Nader Sadaqa, who was responsible for the murder of eight Israelis.

With this ghastly embrace of terrorists, the message the Palestinian Authority wanted to send to its people is clear: those who murder Israelis – even by burning children alive – are PA heroes.

The Palestinian Authority has built an entire culture that glorifies such murderers. It rewards them with monthly salaries, names schools and streets after them, and celebrates their release from prison as national triumphs.

By sending its top officials to Egypt to embrace such terrorists, the PA has again proven that it does not merely tolerate terrorism but sanctifies it. These are not fringe individuals acting on their own initiative, but the most senior representatives of Mahmoud Abbas himself, carrying his explicit blessings.

This is the real face of the Palestinian Authority, and it proves that it remains a terror entity. It cannot have any role in the new Gaza.
