Former PLO Prisoners' Affairs Spokesman Hassan Abd Rabbo: "Every release of a Palestinian prisoner brings joy, happiness. It expresses loyalty to the struggle… Those released today are a source of pride for the Palestinian people, by the very fact that they were released from prison. After all, the Palestinian [PA] leadership has long demanded, and the people of the Palestinian homeland have all aspired to have no prisoner remain in the occupation's (i.e., Israel's) prisons… Regarding the prisoners, there is great disappointment among the prisoners and their families, not only because the prisoner movement's leaders remained outside the deal… but also because every prisoner is a national, social, and moral asset of which we are proud, and he has rights, yet there are still prisoners sentenced to life who are imprisoned."
