Abbas’ advisor calls on Muslims to join Palestinian “Jihad” against Israel
PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas' Advisor on Religious Affairs and Islamic Relations Mahmoud Al-Habbash: "The Palestinian people, who maintain Ribat (i.e., religious conflict)in their homeland in Jerusalem and its surroundings, are not only defending themselves and their homeland, but they are also defending you. They are defending all Muslims. All Muslim states, all Muslim peoples, and all the holy places of Islam. Therefore, standing by the Palestinian people is a religious duty imposed on the shoulders of all Muslims. Not only in words and not only in feelings, but also in actions and in Jihad for the sake of Allah…The Palestinian people will continue to stand firm and carry out Jihad and Ribat until Allah fulfills their freedom, independence, and statehood, despite the occupation (i.e., Israel)...The issue of Palestine is not just an issue of land or a political issue. It is first and foremost, and above all, a matter of faith."
