“Hamas steals aid, sells it at exorbitant prices, prevents it from reaching Gazans” – Abbas’ advisor
PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas' Advisor on Religious Affairs and Islamic Relations Mahmoud Al-Habbash: "[Hamas] have exploited themselves and the resources of their people, and they have hijacked the Gaza Strip for more than 18 years… They don't attach importance to the suffering of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip… Egypt has brought in thousands of trucks, tens of thousands of tons and even hundreds of thousands of tons of food over the recent months (i.e., aid during Hamas' Oct. 7 war on Israel). Unfortunately, and I say this with great pain, Hamas in the Gaza Strip is stealing most of this aid and selling it in the markets at exorbitant pricesto fund itself and its members, and is preventing this aid from reaching the Palestinian civilians… Hamas is part of the disaster, Hamas is part of the catastrophe… Maybe the Hamas members getting killed on the ground are good people, but the responsibility is the decision-makers'. The decision-makers who are hijacking two million people, including the poor Hamas members who are being sacrificed by their leadership and those who are activating it [Hamas] in a crazy, valueless, and meaningless war and confrontation."
