Official PA TV Israeli affairs "expert" Nizar Nazzal: "Voices were heard in Israel saying that Israel is now focusing on Iran and the front in Gaza is becoming a secondary arena, and this harms the personal security of the Israeli civilian, because there are more than 53 Israeli prisoners (hostages) in the Gaza Strip. This tone that we heard on the Israeli street affected the Israeli Air Force, and therefore it carried out an attack and targeted defenseless civilians who were trying to get a slice of bread or a sip of water."

"A new massacre" and "an attack" refer to an incident when Palestinian crowds ran at a stuck aid truck next to Israeli forces, who opened fire thinking they were being attacked.
