Abbas’ advisor: The PA must rule Gaza, “We don’t want a weapon other than the PA’s weapon”

PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas' Advisor on Religious Affairs and Islamic Relations Mahmoud Al-Habbash: "[Hamas'] weapon has become a disaster for the Palestinian people and it needs to disappear. We have no need for this weapon in the Gaza Strip. We don't want to hold a weapon with which we will destroy ourselves, or which will serve as an excuse to destroy Palestinian society. President [Abbas'] words are clear and our position is clear: The PA needs to manage the Gaza Strip. We don't want a weapon other than the PA's weapon. We want one law, one rule, and one weapon."
